Rabbits, moths and crochet

Amber is lead training one of her bunnies, hopefully to realise my desire for a carbon-neutral strimming solution but Willow is worse than Scruff on the lead and this morning disappeared off into a rose bush:

Happy bunny
Made a change from fishing bees out of a prickly place I guess.

I have also spent a silly amount of time crocheting things - I really enjoy it but have trouble with keeping my tension on an even keel; metaphor for life! Anyway I have had many failed attempts to the extent that I think I now have the beginnings of RSI in my thumb joint. I started to make a er, thing and ended up with an egg cosy...as my mother said, "Shoot, and what you hit, call the target". I was then trying to Google a Mollie Makes crochet project and happened upon another Molly who crochets - aren't these sweet?

so seeing that I needed a size 10 crochet hook and fine red yarn I set about with my size 4.5 crochet hook and thick green wool. I was mid final-stitch when Charles arrived and he asked what it was. I explained that it was a heart and that I had followed a pattern and everything to which he said "Well why doesn't it look like the one in the picture then?" He did, however, agree that my egg cosy was quite good and that anyway he wasn't going to argue with me all the time I was holding a crochet hook.

Well, here are the finished articles:

I think a pompom would add a jaunty feel to the egg cosy

I admit the heart is rather wonky but that surely is another metaphor for life.

With a certain amount of trepidation we decided to put my Charles' moth trap on tonight as the night of his birthday wasn't suitable, although the wind's picked up a bit so not sure if they'll be 'flying tonight'. We'll see!

  1. DEFINITELY needs a pom-pom!!! And surely the whole "size" and "yarn" thing is more a guideline??? Unless, of course, you're the sort of person who wants it to look like the picture....
